Internship opportunities
An internship with C3 will provide you with hands-on experience in the reality of implementing conservation programmes in threatened tropical marine ecosystems in the developing world, improving your employment prospects.
We are currently looking for interns on our Philippines and Micronesia, Madagascar and Indian Ocean Islands and Fiji and South Pacific Islands programmes. Please click on the link below to find out more details.
Some of the work that our past interns have been involved in includes:
-Evaluating impacts of dive tourism on coral reefs in Palau -Mapping seagrass habitat in the Comoros Islands and Madagascar -Developing a socioeconomic monitoring network for the conservation of coastal resources in Comoros -Working with local villagers in the Comoros to monitor and tag nesting sea turtles -Investigating local taboos about dugongs in Madagascar -Assessing the relative importance of sea turtle nesting beaches in Madagascar -Studying the dynamics of the shark fin trade in Madagascar and Comoros -Looking at the environmental impact of trade in marine curios in Mauritius -Using traditional ecological knowledge to develop community-based management plans in Fiji -Creating and performing a sketch about threatened dugongs with local scout troops -Developing and presenting weekly lectures to biological science students at the University of Antsiranana
Past C3 interns have profited from their experience with C3 to secure places on MSc and PhD programmes, and gone on to develop highly successful careers in the environmental and development sectors.

C3 provides supervision for Masters and PhD students completing fieldwork for their theses and has worked with Duke University, University of East Anglia, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of Miami. Projects conducted with C3 often yield publishable data and we can work with you to define your research question/s. Please email us for further details (but please note you will need to go through the usual internship application process first).
