Community Centred Conservation, or 'C3' was established in 2002 by an international group of marine environmental consultants in Palau. Heralded as 'Future Conservationists of 2006' by four of the world's leading conservation organizations, we are a young and dynamic non-profit organization with a unique grassroots approach.

We focus on small-scale capacity building, scientific research and environmental education projects that lead to direct benefits for local communities through the sustainable use of their natural environment. By providing opportunities for local people to develop and participate in these projects, we help to ensure the long-term sustainability of our work.

To minimize overheads, all of C3's staff are resident in project countries, working closely with local collaborating organizations and governments. All are dedicated to reducing unnecessary costs and ensuring that our funding is used directly for work in the field.

OUR MISSION:

'...to develop conservation efforts worldwide by building the capacity of local individuals and institutions through grassroots research and training initiatives'
