Conservation Programme Assistants – Fiji and Madagascar
C3 seeks conservationists holding postgraduate qualifications for 4 Programme Assistant posts, based at our Madagascar & Indian Ocean islands and Fiji and South Pacific islands offices.
Our programmes in both Indian Ocean and Pacific regions focus on integrating contemporary ecological and socio-economic research to ensure the human dimension is a primary consideration in biodiversity conservation practices. Understanding traditional knowledge and management practices and incorporating them into protected area planning is also a key to our community-based initiatives. Our areas of expertise are marine endangered species ecology and conservation, artisanal fisheries assessments and innovative financial incentive schemes for bycatch mitigation in coastal communities. We train and manage small numbers of high calibre local and international graduate interns and Masters students throughout the year.
This international 3-6 month placement provides a unique opportunity for entry-level conservationists to gain insight into the reality of coastal and marine biodiversity management in a developing world setting within a reputable results-driven non-profit organization.

This position provides well-rounded practical experience ideal for building a career in the competitive field of international conservation. Exceptional candidates will be considered for paid roles during and after completion of their placement.
The posts are voluntary and the candidate must be willing to cover their travel to the relevant programme office and medical insurance. Food, accommodation and project-related transport costs 300GBP/month.

C3 currently has vacancies for two Programme Officers (specializing in Research & Development and Field Support) for its expanding international programmes which focus on long-term coastal resource management initiatives.
Our work employs local environmental knowledge in combination with conventional scientific research and has a strong emphasis on community involvement and capacity-building.
Working closely with the national government, local and international research institutions and community groups, our programmes develop and implement sustainable actions for marine biodiversity conservation and economic development in marginalized regions.

There is scope for promotion of exceptional candidates to other roles within the organization and missions to overseas offices and field programmes.
