C3 - PALAU The Republic of Palau is an archipelago situated in Micronesia, an area of the Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines, fringed by stunning coral reefs which are well known to the international dive community. Other natural wonders include the marine lakes, many of them populated by swarms of Mastigias and Aurelia jellyfish. Palau is home to the largest freshwater lake in Micronesia and several beautiful waterfalls. There are lush tropical rainforests, swamps and savannah, fringed by white sandy beaches and mangrove forests. With such a wide range of natural attractions, it is no surprise that Palau's main revenue comes from tourism. This makes it all the more important for us to understand and protect these unique habitats. C3 has organized a number of projects in Palau, click on a project on the left for more information.
