C3-MAURITIUS INTERNSHIPS

Coastal Zone Management and Training Internship, Mauritius

There are two vacancies for interns on the C3-Mauritius programme. This work includes:

  • Development of recommendations for the management of Marine Protected Areas and Endangered Species
  • Working on the Regional Tuna Tagging Project in collaboration with the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission
  • Research and development of classroom and field training modules in Coastal Zone Management
  • Production of teaching aids and materials
  • Liaison with local partners
  • Reconnaissance visits to field sites
  • Local and international publicity and awareness-raising

A partial scholarship of up to US$600 is currently available for this internship.

  Interns on the C3-Mauritius programme can learn to scuba dive at a special rates of:   

 

  220GBP for PADI Open Water (normal price 375GBP)

  150GBP for PADI Advanced Open Water (normal price 230GBP)

Applicants should possess a relevant degree.

We are also looking for a GIS specialist intern to create habitat maps of seagrass beds using field survey data.  This position will be partially funded by C3.
