ECO-ACCREDITATION FOR TOUR OPERATORS

Following the success of C3's Marine Tour Guide Certification Programme in Palau, Micronesia, we are now developing a course for professionals employed in the tourism sector in Mauritius.  With a predicted twofold increase in visitors to Mauritius by 2015 (2 million), this small island needs to balance growth of the sector with protection of the environment on which it depends.  C3 is committed to working with the government, tour operators and the NGO sector to implement a set of best practice guidelines which will mitigate negative environmental impacts of tourism and secure Mauritius reputation as the 'green' paradise island.

Based on extensive research within the industry, C3 is developing an eco-accreditation course for professionals which will increase their employability in the sector whilst heightening their knowledge of environmental issues relevant to Mauritius and the wider Western Indian Ocean region.
