SCIENTIFIC EXCELLENCE

C3 conducts scientific research required for the management of endangered species and habitats. Results are fed directly into governmental policy development (such as species action plans and the creation and management of Marine Protected Areas). Monitoring programmes suited to local capacity are developed in conjunction with local partners and regional and international initiatives. Low-cost methods are employed where possible so that their long-term continuation is feasible for local communities and management bodies. C3 has carried out research in partnership with universities in the UK and USA, national governments, international and local NGOs.  A key area of development is training local practitioners in the analysis of data and presentation of findings at national and international fora.
